The Bachelor Programme for Teacher Education for Primary Schools in the Teacher Education Network South-East aims at a science-oriented and practical training in the skills required for professional practice and qualifies students to teach at primary schools.

  • 240 ECTS credits, incl. selectable specialisation with 60 EC
  • Final award: Bachelor of Education (BEd)
  • The Bachelor Programme for Teacher Education for Primary Schools entitles the holder to teach in years 1 to 4
  • The Bachelor Programme for Teacher Education for Primary Schools entitles the holder to  a Master Programme for Teacher Education for Primary Schools: For an unlimited contract with the employer, a continuing Master Programme within five years of completing the Bachelor Programme is a prerequisite.
  • The Bachelor Programme for Teacher Education for Primary Schools is conducted in full-time form or on a part-time basis (extra-occupational).
  • General higher education entry qualification (Matura (Austrian High School Diploma) or certificate of higher education entry qualification examination or "Berufsreifeprüfung")
  • Completed admission procedure

In the first semester of your studies to become a primary school teacher, you choose a focus according to your talent and interest, which is completed from the 3rd to the 8th semester:

The ÖH (Austrian students' union) fee of € 20.20 per semester must be paid.
