Centre for Inclusion and Multilingualism

At the Private University College of Teacher Education Burgenland, inclusion is anchored as an overarching educational principle in all areas. The Centre for Inclusion and Multilingualism sees itself as a partner in dialogue as well as a place of consultation, networking and development.

In the sociological context, the term inclusion describes a social concept which is not based on pre-defined norms and in which all dimensions of diversity, such as social origin, physical and psychological abilities, gender, migration and multilingualism or religion are regarded as enrichment or as a self-evident fact in living together.

The Private University College of Teacher Education Burgenland is both an actor and a cooperation partner in a development process towards an educational system that grants all people of all ages equal access to educational institutions and participation in educational opportunities.

This approach is given special consideration in the Bachelor's programme at primary level in the focal areas "Inclusive Education" and "Multilingualism and Intercultural Education".
